In the Abstract

Every one of my realistic paintings is designed around a powerful ABSTRACT design, as its foundation.  That is a very important step in the creation of every painting, regardless of its subject.​​​

And then ... every once in a while, I make a painting which is entirely abstract.  Its creation relies on a fascinating combination of pure intuition working hand in hand with thoughtful design.  You might see shapes within them that remind you of flowers or buildings or all that other stuff I love to paint ... but they are true abstracts ... non-representational paintings in watercolor.  I hope you find them intriguing!
